Before I had 13 years of professional marketing experience, I was a grom fascinated with the Volcom versus Hurley battle in my local lineup. You wore one or the other, not both. It was fierce and it was fun.
I had no clue I was studying storytelling and brand marketing. Didn’t even know those phrases. I just knew I was looking for key reasons to justify why I backed Volcom.
When I had the chance to start my professional career at Surfline, I was thrilled for the road ahead. I was now in the industry I loved and would be working with every company I grew up admiring. From my first day forward, my goal was simple: to learn the details behind the strategies that created the industry conversation.
